Field Trip Friday

The boys have been begging me to go letterboxing.  They want to continue our field trip Fridays that we started last summer.

So today I got up the courage to take off with the boys and try to find a letterbox and get our supplies.  We went into Nicholasville and found the Hobby Lobby and got our stamp.  It a star with a flag in it.  We are the "Lone Star Boys"  so now you will know if you see our stamp. :)

Then we found a park where our letterbox was.  Just as we pulled into the parking lot it started to lightning.  It wasn't raining yet, but just lightning and thundering.  The boys were determined to go letterboxing so we started down the path.  We got about 3 steps down and a really loud thunder sounded over our heads and the boys screamed and took off for the car.  So, our letterbox attempt was not successful.

We did come back to Perryville and the rain had stopped and it had cooled down so we stopped by the battlefield and the boys enjoyed playing on the playground.
